Barclaycard and Diners Club International Forge New Partnership

Partnership will give merchants extra choice over payment acceptance

LONDON & RIVERWOODS, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Barclaycard Global Payment Acceptance and Diners Club International, a business unit of Discover Financial Services (NYS: DFS) , today announced a new joint agreement to allow the acceptance of Discover and Diners Club cards by merchants using Barclaycard's payment acquiring services. As a result of the agreement, thousands of small, medium and large merchants using Barclaycard's payment acquiring services will be able to accept payments from Discover, Diners Club International and Discover Network partners cardholders from around the world.

Barclaycard, which is one of Europe's largest payment acceptance providers with over 89,000 merchants, will add acceptance of Discover Network and Diners Club International's cards - which are already accepted in more than 185 countries worldwide - as a standard to its payments processing services portfolio starting in early 2015.
