ManTech Gets a Piece of $900 Million SPAWAR Contract
Defense contractor ManTech announced a sizable contract win Tuesday.
According to the company, America's Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic has picked it to participate in a contract to provide full lifecycle support for command, control, and decision support systems for SSC Atlantic customers worldwide.
Emphasis on "participate." In fact, 15 separate companies were named "winners" of this indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ), multiple-award contract, ManTech being only one of them. ManTech puts the value of the contract at $899.8 million over the course of an initial one-year base term, plus four one-year options that may or may not be exercised.
Tasks that may be awarded under this umbrella contract are expected to include tactical data software and hardware integration, integration of command and control systems, engineering of information interfaces to support the decision-making process, and C4ISR systems of systems integration and testing, "among others."
