Managed Solutions for Hospitality to Play a Critical Role in a Changing Hotel Landscape
SCHAUMBURG, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- High-quality Wi-Fi service is one of the top amenities for today's travelers according to a commissioned study conducted by Forrester Consulting on behalf of Motorola Solutions (NYS: MSI) in April 2013.
The survey, based on responses from 500 North America hotel guests including business and recreational travelers, found that the average guest is walking in the door with multiple wireless devices. As a result, hotel operators are seeing a huge demand for Wi-Fi service and in many cases that demand is not being effectively met. The survey also reveals that while Wi-Fi offers opportunities for service differentiation, these may be overlooked with the tendency to manage Wi-Fi as part of an IT cost. By expanding the Wi-Fi presence in their properties, hoteliers have an opportunity to satisfy a key customer demand and differentiate themselves with value-added services.
