IAMGOLD Keeps Dividend Steady

Updated

IAMGOLD might specialize in a precious metal, but it's continuing to pay its dividend in hard currency. The company has declared its latest semi-annual distribution at $0.125 per share of its common stock.

This will be handed out on July 12 to shareholders of record as of July 3. That amount matches the firm's previous three disbursements, the most recent of which was paid in January. Prior to that, IAMGOLD distributed an even $0.10 per share.http://www.nasdaq.com/symbol/iag/dividend-history

In the press release announcing the news, the company said these are "challenging" times for the gold sector. Nevertheless, it said its success in reducing costs allowed for the dividend to be maintained.

That distribution annualizes to $0.25 per share. That yields 4.7% at IAMGOLD's current stock price of $5.36.
