Saks Fifth Avenue Recruits for Merchandise and Demand Planners

- Saks continues its innovative approach to recruiting top talent by adding features to its best-in-class careers website and through social media -

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Saks Fifth Avenue recently introduced another innovative element to its recruiting approach, specifically using video to target top merchandise and demand planning talent.

Roland Hearns, Vice President of Talent Acquisition for Saks Fifth Avenue, noted, "Saks Fifth Avenue has an amazing group of talented and passionate associates, and we are always looking to attract new top talent to our Company, especially as we continue to grow and embrace omnichannel retailing. We have taken a multifaceted, unique and very proactive approach to recruiting, which includes our distinctive and informative careers website, which can be found at http://www.careersatsaks.com/."

"We currently are recruiting for merchandise and demand planners, so we put together a short video, accessible via the careers website, which highlights Saks' culture and the career path and developmental opportunities available within the merchant world specific to the planning function," Hearns said. The video features a variety of associates discussing a myriad of topics including what attracted them to Saks, the importance of their roles to the organization, career growth opportunities, and what they like about their positions.

Hearns added, "For planning roles, we are not just looking for candidates with experience in the retail industry. Individuals that are highly motivated; like to work in a fast-paced environment; and possess strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills would make a good fit in planning."

In addition to the "Careers in Planning" video link at the bottom right of the http://www.careersatsaks.com/ home page, potential candidates visiting the site can learn about hot jobs at Saks, meet Saks' people through a series of other videos, explore career paths, find out about recruiting events and apply for open positions.

Last year, Saks also launched a talent acquisition page on Facebook. The "Careers at Saks" Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/CareersatSaks) allows prospective job applicants to interact directly with Saks Fifth Avenue's talent acquisition team, search available positions and keep up with happenings at Saks Fifth Avenue. The Facebook newsfeed includes "Jobs of the Day," career and interview tips, and other pertinent updates weekly. In addition, Saks Fifth Avenue's internal brand ambassadors from a variety of disciplines often speak on behalf of Saks Fifth Avenue as an employer, giving job tips and discussing why Saks Fifth Avenue is a great place to work.

Saks also actively uses YouTube, LinkedIn, and Twitter to discover, communicate with, and attract top talent.
