QUAN Developing Innovative Products to Make iPad More Valuable Than Ever

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- As more and more forward-thinking professionals utilize the Apple (NAS: AAPL) iPad to solve problems at work, Quantum International Corp. (OTCBB: QUAN) is working to make the popular tablet more valuable than ever in the $2.3 billion iPad market with a professional series of multi-function iPad cases that are in the development stage.

Forbes recently reported that one group of high-flying professionals, the U.S. Air Force, announced plans to buy 18,000 iPads, giving Apple the green light to spend $9.36 million to give pilots electronic flight bags. Pilots typically carry 30 to 40 pounds of paper documents in their flight bags. That material, in addition to other miscellaneous documentation on an aircraft, can now be uploaded onto an iPad, significantly cutting weight and, in turn, leading to enormous savings in fuel consumption.

Similar in concept to the flight bag idea, Quantum is developing a professional series of iPad enhancement products that will enable the professional to interact more effectively and efficiently with his or her work place. Following the All-In-One everyday iPad case series, Quantum is initially creating a series of multi-function cases that will be a useful adaption for physicians, emergency response technicians, firemen and other medical and safety providers.

"Quantum is working on developing specialized iPad cases for various professionals, which together with applicable apps will enhance the functionality of the iPad in professional and industrial environments," Quantum CEO and President Robert Federowicz said. "The Air Force's commitment to iPads furthers our belief that the iPad market will continue to grow, which in turn creates a larger demand for multi-functional iPad accessories."
