On Assignment Names Jennifer Hankes Painter as Vice President and General Counsel

CALABASAS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- On Assignment, Inc. (NYS: ASGN) , a leading global provider of diversified professional staffing solutions, announced today that it has named Jennifer Hankes Painter as the company's Vice President and General Counsel.

Ms. Painter joins On Assignment after serving since 2009 as Vice President, General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, and Secretary of MRV Communications, Inc., a global provider of carrier Ethernet, wavelength division multiplexing optical transport, infrastructure management equipment and solutions as well as network integration and managed services. From 2004 through 2008, Ms. Painter served as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel for The Ryland Group, Inc., a leading national homebuilder traded on NYSE, where she was responsible for the company's regulatory compliance, corporate governance, financings, and general corporate and employment law. From 2001 through 2004, Ms. Painter served as Vice President and General Counsel of Cadiz, Inc., a water and agricultural company traded on NASDAQ, where she was responsible for the company's domestic and international legal and compliance issues. Prior to joining Cadiz, Ms. Painter was employed as an associate with Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, an international law firm, where she dealt with merger and acquisition transactions, securities, and other corporate matters. She was an officer in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers prior to her legal career. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles.

In connection with the commencement of her employment with On Assignment, on June 3, 2013, On Assignment granted Ms. Painter a restricted stock unit award covering 5,444 shares of On Assignment common stock. The restricted stock unit award will vest, subject to continued service, with respect to 1,361 shares on the first anniversary of the grant date, and with respect to 4,083 shares over the next two years in substantially equal quarterly installments. The restricted stock unit awards are granted as employment inducement awards pursuant to the NYSE rules.
