Russian-American Events to Celebrate Anniversary of Russian Independence
CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Two events, sponsored by the Moscow Committee of the Chicago Sister Cities International and the U.S.- Russia Chamber of Commerce, will celebrate the 13th anniversary of Russian independence here on June 13.
The first event will be the third annual Russian-American Business Forum, one of the premier business-to-business events for information and networking with Chicagoland's Russian community. The keynote speaker will be Sergei Kislayk, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the United States. Other speakers will include Mikaihl Kalugin, Head, Economic Department of the Russian Embassy; Michael Polsky, founder, president and CEO of Invenergy LLC and Piotr Galitzine, chairman of TMK IPSCO.
"Last year's event drew an eclectic group of entrepreneurs, executives and governments with business or personal ties to Russia," said Galitzine, who is also co-chair of the Moscow Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International. "The event honors Russia's national holiday, which is celebrated on June 12 to commemorate the Russian Parliament's formal declaration of sovereignty in 1990."
