Nanette Abuhoff Jacobson Named Global Investment Strategist For Hartford Funds

RADNOR, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Hartford Funds has named Wellington Management Company, LLP's Nanette Abuhoff Jacobson as global investment strategist. She succeeds Jim Rullo, who will retire from Wellington Management at the end of June.

As global investment strategist, Jacobson will analyze and interpret markets and investment opportunities for Hartford Funds' sales organization, the financial advisor community, and major broker-dealers and distributors. She will write regularly on events that impact the global financial markets and provide timely commentary on topics that are important to financial advisors and their clients.

"With more than 25 years of experience in the capital markets, Nanette brings an expertise that spans the major asset classes," said Jim Davey, president of Hartford Funds. "Her regular market insights will be invaluable to broker-dealer firms and financial advisors, and will be a differentiator for Hartford Funds."

In addition to her role as Hartford Funds' global investment strategist, Jacobson serves as asset allocation strategist at Wellington Management. She advises Wellington Management's institutional clients, consulting on strategic asset allocation issues to develop multi-asset investment solutions.

Jacobson is a key contributor to Wellington Management's thought leadership, co-authoring the firm's Asset Allocation Outlook (distributed quarterly to approximately 8,000 clients and consultants) and publishing white papers on various asset allocation issues. She launched the firm's quarterly Fixed Income Outlook in 2006 and pioneered research on the secular change in fixed income liquidity after the financial crisis in 2008.

Prior to her current role, Jacobson was Wellington Management's director of Fixed Income Product Management, responsible for ensuring the integrity of the firm's fixed-income approaches and driving business strategy, product development, and client retention. She played a key leadership role in strengthening the firm's position as a fixed-income thought leader globally. She joined Wellington Management in 2005 as an investment director for U.S. fixed income products.

Previously, Jacobson held positions at JPMorgan, Security Pacific National Bank, Interactive Data Corporation, and IBM.

Jacobson holds a bachelors degree in computer science from Barnard College, Columbia University.
