Special One-Day Macy's Event Raises Additional Funds for America's Veterans on 'Got Your 6 Saturday'
On Saturday, June 1, Macy's will host a special one-day event to raise additional dollars for Got Your 6, above and beyond the $3 million goal set as part of its "American Icons" campaign

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- On Saturday, June 1, Macy's is paying special tribute to the men and women who serve our country by hosting "Got Your 6 Saturday" in support of Got Your 6, an awareness initiative working to change the conversation around America's millions of military veterans. As part of Macy's "American Icons" campaign launched mid-May, Macy's goal has been to raise $3 million to benefit Got Your 6 between May 12 and June 9. The aim of this special, one-day event is to raise funds, as well as awareness, for Got Your 6, above and beyond the original goal. Macy's "American Icons" campaign is an early summer celebration of the people, places and things we love most about America.
Got Your 6, one of our nation's newest veteran and military family campaigns is uniting the resources of the entertainment industry with a coalition of more than two dozen veteran-focused, nonprofit partners, dedicated to improving veteran reintegration, celebrating veterans as leaders and civic assets, and putting their skills to work at home. Got Your 6, which in the military means "I've got your back," focuses on six pillars of reintegration -- Jobs, Education, Health, Housing, Family and Leadership, and is aiming to exceed individual goals for each pillar by 2014.

During 'Got Your 6 Saturday,' Macy's is offering special, one-day savings to customers. On June 1, shoppers can give $3 at any register and get 25 percent off all day. Note that some exclusions and restrictions apply. One hundred percent of the $3 donation, above and beyond the $3 million goal, will be donated to Got Your 6 and its nonprofit partners to empower returning veterans and military families.
