GHX annual awards program honors best of the healthcare supply chain
RICHMOND, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Owens & Minor, Inc. (NYS: OMI) today announced that it has been named U.S. Healthcare Supplier of the Year: Large Organization in the 13th AnnualGHXcellence Awards for leveraging supply chain automation and trading partner collaboration to drive out costs, reduce waste and improve business performance. The winners were announced at the 2013 GHX Healthcare Supply Chain Summit - the largest event that brings together both the buy and sell sides of the healthcare supply chain.
According to GHX, the awards were granted to organizations that excelled in meeting specific criteria during 2012, including:

- Growth in the number of trading partners with whom they conduct e-business
- Growth in the percentage of purchase orders transacted electronically for provider organizations; growth in the percentage and response time of purchase order acknowledgements for suppliers
- Growth in the percentage of invoices transacted electronically
- Reduction in order and invoice discrepancies and errors
