Can Apple's Hardware Designer Save iOS?

As lead designer behind every major product since the iMac, Apple's Jony Ive, has undoubtedly played a crucial role in Apple's success. Now, with an expanded role that includes overseeing the iOS interface design, investors are hoping Ive can bring some of his magic to the software side of the business. Some suggest that Ive will, indeed, use his position to overhaul iOS 7. It's definitely needed; both Google's Android and Microsoft's Windows Phone OS are gaining global market share far faster than iOS.
