126 Straight Quarters of Dividends at EMC Insurance

EMC Insurance announced yesterday its second-quarter dividend of $0.21 per share, the same rate it paid the past two quarters after raising the payout 5%, from $0.20 per share.

The board of directors said the quarterly dividend is payable on June 11 to the holders of record at the close of business on June 4. EMC has made 126 consecutive quarterly dividend payments since going public in 1982.


The regular dividend payment equates to a $0.84-per-share annual dividend, yielding 3.0% based on the closing price of EMC Insurance's stock on May 23.
