UnitedHealthcare Community Plan Expands Service Area; Now Available in 26 New York Counties

  • People who qualify for New York State government-sponsored health insurance programs have access to UnitedHealthcare's physician and hospital network, health and wellness programs

  • Thirteen New York counties recently added

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- UnitedHealthcare Community Plan has expanded its New York State government-sponsored health insurance programs to include 13 additional counties in the Hudson Valley, and the Capital and Central New York regions. UnitedHealthcare's New York State government-sponsored health insurance programs already were available in New York City, on Long Island and in Central New York.

UnitedHealthcare Community Plan offers products for individuals and families who may qualify for Medicaid, Family Health Plus, Child Health Plus or New York Medicaid Advantage - or dual-eligible - plans. These plans offer comprehensive health coverage, including prevention, primary care, hospitalization, prescriptions and other services - often with little or no cost.


Members of UnitedHealthcare Community Plans have access to various wellness programs, including nurse case management services for members who need additional assistance in managing chronic diseases and the "Healthy First Steps" program for expectant mothers and newborns. Members also will receive additional support through UnitedHealthcare's member outreach programs to remind and encourage them to seek preventive care.

UnitedHealthcare Community Plans are now available in 26 counties, including Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Clinton, Fulton, Herkimer, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, Oneida, Onondaga, Orange, Oswego, Rensselaer, Rockland, Tioga, Ulster, Warren and Westchester counties. UnitedHealthcare Medicaid plans already were available in Bronx, Kings, Nassau, New York, Queens, Richmond and Suffolk counties.
