Michael F. Price Awarded Graham & Dodd, Murray, Greenwald Prize for Outstanding Contribution to the Field of Value Investing
RYE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- GAMCO Investors, Inc. (GAMCO) awarded the Graham & Dodd, Murray, Greenwald Prize for Value Investing to Michael F. Price, investor and former Chairman of the Board of Franklin Mutual Series Fund during its twenty eighth annual client conference on Friday in New York.
GAMCO created the annual prize to honor an individual, student, or practitioner who has made an outstanding contribution to enlarge the field of value investing. Known as the "Gabelli Prize", the company funded the prize with $1 million and makes the award at its annual client meetings.
Michael F. Price, is the President of The Price Family Foundation, Inc; managing member of MFP Investors LLC and Director of Liquidnet Holdings. He was chairman of the board of Franklin Mutual Advisers and Franklin Mutual Series Fund. He had been associated with both entities and their predecessor organizations since 1975. At that time the adviser was known as Heine Securities Corp. and the fund was Mutual Shares Fund. He also serves on various boards for The Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Johns Hopkins Medicine, and Jazz at Lincoln Center.
Bruce C.N. Greenwald, who heads the Heilbrunn Graham & Dodd Research Center at The Columbia University Graduate School of Business, presented the award.
