With the latest question from "Ask a Fool," Austin Smith addresses whether AT&T, Pfizer, and Procter & Gamble are worth holding on to. First, Austin says to ask why you own these stocks. If you're looking for safe, blue-chip income producers, Austin says you should hang on to them, as they're safe bets to keep the dividend checks coming. But if you're looking for growth, Austin says that's another story. Pfizer fits the bill, but better alternatives to P&G and AT&T might be Unilever and Apple.
