CAE Beats Up on Analysts Yet Again

EPS came in at $0.21. The 14 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ forecast $0.18 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.21 for Q4 were 4.5% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.22 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.17 for Q4 were 19% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.21 per share.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 28.5%, 540 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 14.5%, 370 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 7.5%, 300 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)

Looking ahead
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $525.7 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.17.
