Yahoo! Newsfeeds to Include Tweets

Updated

Yahoo! has partnered with Twitter to bring tweets directly into the Yahoo! newsfeed.

Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer said in a post this week that the company decided to bring tweets into the newsfeed after realizing that "updates direct from politicians, celebrities, media outlets, and other publishers have become an important source of real-time news and information."

Now, as users stream through their Yahoo! newsfeed, the company will work behind the scenes to include relevant and personalized tweets alongside the stories they read. Users will be able to reply, retweet, and star tweets right from the newsfeed.

This move is the latest move to make the Yahoo! newsfeed more relevant. Last month, the company announced plans to embed advertising into the newsfeed. Over the next few days, the Twitter integration will roll out to all U.S. desktop and mobile web users.
