YouTube to Launch Its First-Ever "Comedy Week"

Google's YouTube will host its first-ever YouTube Comedy Week May 19-25, bringing together a host of comedy content creators.

Throughout the week, YouTube will hosts a series of live shows, new episodes from popular channels, and curated playlists. So far, the event has enlisted more than 150 names, including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Vince Vaughn, The Onion, CollegeHumor, and Sarah Silverman.

YouTube Comedy Week will kick off at 6 p.m. PT with The Big Live Comedy Show, during which comedians will do a mix stand-up, sketches, and musical performances.


Last week, Google announced that it will let 53 YouTube channels test a monthly subscription for premium content. Included in the pilot is Comedy.tv.
