Health insurance provider WellPoint will pay a second-quarter dividend of $0.375 per share, the same rate it paid last quarter after hiking the payout 30% from $0.2875 per share, the company announced yesterday.
The board of directors said the quarterly dividend is payable on June 25 to the holders of record at the close of business on June 10. WellPoint has paid a quarterly dividend every year since 2011 and has increased it each year thereafter.
The regular dividend payment equates to a $1.50-per-share annual dividend yielding 1.9% based on the closing price of WellPoint's stock on May 15.
