Royal Caribbean Names New CFO

Updated

Change is afoot in the finance department of Royal Caribbean . The company announced that its CFO Brian Rice has vacated his position, and has been replaced by Jason Liberty. The transition is effective immediately.

Rice, who is also a vice chairman at the cruise operator, is to retire in the spring of 2014. He will remain vice chairman until that time.

Liberty has been at Royal Caribbean since 2005, most recently working as senior vice president, strategy and finance. Prior to that, he was employed at accounting company KPMG.

The departing Rice has worked at Royal Caribbean for more than 20 years. He was appointed CFO in 2006, and named vice chairman last year.
