Northern Tier Energy Swings to Profit in Q1, Declares Payout

Updated

Northern Tier Energy revenue totaled slightly over $1.1 billion in the first quarter, an improvement over the $999 million in the same period the previous year, the company announced this week.

The bottom line landed in the black, to the tune of $119 million ($1.30 per diluted unit), up from Q1 2012's net loss of $194 million.

Northern Tier Energy also declared a dividend for Q1. The company is to hand out $1.23 per common unit. This will be dispensed on May 30 to holders of record as of May 23. That amount is the lowest of the three distributions the firm has paid since going public in the summer of 2012.
