Leading Mobile Authentication & Security Company Cidway Security Seeks Global Strategic Partnerships
Decision to explore potential strategic partnerships to advance global market reach of mobile security offerings including two-factor authentication with all options under consideration.
LAUSANNE, Switzerland--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Cidway Security (http://www.cidway.com), a global technology group from Switzerland that offers a unique portfolio of integrated security solutions specifically focused on mobile technology and two-factor authentication, has announced that it is exploring potential strategic relationships to expand global market reach for its mobile security solutions.
Cidway offers a unique suite of solutions addressing the security and authentication transaction market place, ideally positioned to satisfy the advanced requirements for Online banking, Mobile payment transactions, Corporate IT and Infrastructure security, E-commerce, Secure mobile services, and homeland security applications. The Company boasts a strong portfolio of 12 patents and over 140 claims registered in the EU, USA, and ten other countries covering applications and core algorithms required by the world's leading authentication and security providers.
"We are very encouraged with the technical progress the company has made since our investment with its fully integrated hardware, software and server solutions, and are excited to explore new potential strategic relationships given the rapidly changing global security and mobile technology landscape and the inbound interest received on this front. I strongly believe the timing is ripe for our unique solutions," said Fawaz Zu'bi, Chairman of Cidway and CEO of leading Venture Capital firm Accelerator Technology Holdings. As access by corporations, their partners, vendors and customers to applications, databases and other sensitive information over VPNs and web and mobile-based applications increases globally, strong authentication becomes critical, especially where highly confidential data is involved. Recent events and security breaches led global technology companies like Apple, Twitter, Facebook and Evernote to seek two-factor authentication which is at the heart of Cidway's core strength".
Since 2005, Cidway has focused on the development of Intellectual Property for time base authentication and its application for hardware tokens but mainly focusing on mobile platforms. Its methods may be applied to a wide range of transactions from remote locations, by computer, phone, or on site. As proof of concept, the company developed and sold an advanced 3As One Time Password (OTP) solution addressing such applications as network and enterprise access, e-Banking, Consumer-end authentication, e-administration, and homeland security. Cidway has validated its technology with more than 100 customers including Israel's PM Office and Ministry of Transportation as well as major banks, insurance, health, and telcos, universities, food distributors, and high tech firms. Cidway's technology is designed and built around a flexible architecture that allows easy and scalable integration for OEM channels or securing third party solutions including Mobile Payment (including Mobile Wallets), Mobile TV, online applications, online banking or other applications requiring authentication and/or transaction signature. The technology further solves various known mobile device authentication problems including time synchronization, data confidentiality and PIN management, security robustness and user-convenience.
Among Cidway's accomplishments is a partnership agreement with global digital security and authentication leader Gemalto (Euronext NL0000400653 - GTO). It is in late-stage talks with other global players within the security space in Europe and the US, all interested in integrating the technology with their own broadly deployed authentication servers particularly within the mobile space.
