Google Lets Developers Reply to Comments in Play

Google has connected its Play store and Google+ to help developers create better mobile apps for Android users by "strengthening" the conversation between Android developers and their users. Developers can now reply to reviews through the Google Play Developer Console. Once submitted, the original reviewer will receive an email notification alerting them of the developer's reply.

Additionally, Google Play customers will see that their Google+ profiles display next to their reviews and replies. In the company's blog post about the updates from yesterday, Google says it has introduced this feature to help users find reviews that they trust. Google says that since rolling this feature out to a few people, it has already seen the quality of its app reviews increase "tremendously."

Google's suggestions for developers include:

  • Check reviews frequently, and involve people from all parts of your organization.
  • Reply constructively to both negative and positive reviews.
  • Get ideas about new improvements or features.

linkWith Google's I/O conference set to open on Wednesday, don't be surprised if the search giant releases new features before the weekend begins.
