Edwards Lifesciences CFO to Retire

Updated

Edwards Lifesciences is now in the hunt for a new CFO. The company announced that the existing officeholder, Thomas Abate, is to retire later this year. The 59-year-old will step down once his successor is in place.

Edwards has retained an executive search firm to assist in the process of finding a new CFO.

Abate has been Edwards' finance chief since January 2006. Before that, he served as the company's vice president and controller following its spinoff as an independent entity -- it previously belonged to Baxter International. In the years before the spinoff, Abate worked in several "finance-related positions" at Baxter.
