Books-A-Million Launches Summer Reading Program with Bestselling Children's Book Author Carl Hiaasen
BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Books-A-Million, Inc. (Nasdaq/NM: BAMM) announced today the launch of its 2013 Summer Reading Program with reading ambassador and bestselling children's book author Carl Hiaasen. The summer adventure kicks off on May 19th when children can pick up their summer reading checklist at their neighborhood Books-A-Million. Children who participate in the Carl Hiaasen Summer Reading Program and read six featured books between May 19th and August 17th will receive a free exclusive Carl Hiaasen CHOMP or HOOT backpack (while supplies last).
"I was a manic reader when I was young, and that's what got me interested in writing," said Carl Hiaasen. "Summer reading is a great time for kids to get lost in a good book, and try out some new authors or books that they might not have discovered before."
