Post Holdings (NYS: POST) reported earnings on May 13. Here are the numbers you need to know.

EPS came in at $0.19. The four earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.27 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.19 for Q2 were 51% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.39 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.13 for Q2 were 57% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.30 per share.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 41.3%, 300 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 11.6%, 170 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 2.1%, 210 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)

Looking ahead
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $249.2 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.46.

Next year's average estimate for revenue is $995.9 million. The average EPS estimate is $1.39.
