Herbalife Hosts 3rdAnnual Mother's Day Luncheon for Women at Hope Gardens Family Center
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Global nutrition company, Herbalife (NYS: HLF) , recently hosted a special Mother's Day luncheon at Hope Gardens Family Center, a ministry of Union Rescue Mission that offers transitional housing for mothers and children in Sylmar, California.
For three consecutive years, Herbalife has hosted approximately 70 women and their children at a special Mother's Day luncheon to acknowledge and celebrate all they do. As well as a three-course luncheon, residents at Hope Gardens Family Center also received massages, beauty makeovers, and a complimentary professional photograph session as part of this year's celebration.
After lunch, special guests delivered words of encouragement and passed out bags filled with a selection of donated items. While the women were being pampered, their children were being entertained by clowns and acrobats, taking part in hula-hoop contests and making jewelry as Mother's Day gifts for their moms.
"Thank you again, Herbalife, for making our moms feel so special for Mother's Day," said Rev. Andy J. Bales, CEO, Union Rescue Mission.
Hope Gardens Family Center provides a safe environment, free of crime and full of hope so that moms and their children can get a fresh start. Through its comprehensive program, moms are able to transition from homelessness to independent living. In addition to the family program, Hope Gardens supports up to 23 formerly homeless elderly women with permanent supportive housing.
Herbalife has been supporting a 'shake donation' program at Union Rescue Mission in Downtown Los Angeles for the past three years, and is also actively involved with providing staff volunteers for various special activities hosted by the organization throughout the year, including their yearly Thanksgiving celebration.
