Xcel Energy Announces Debt Financing
MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Xcel Energy Inc. (NYS: XEL) (Xcel Energy) today announced that it closed an offering of $450.0 million in aggregate principal amount of its 0.75% senior unsecured notes due May 9, 2016 (the Notes). The Notes are redeemable at any time subject to certain "make whole" provisions.
Net proceeds from the sale of the Notes will be used to repay short-term debt borrowings and for other general corporate purposes.
Barclays Capital Inc., Citigroup Global Markets Inc. and Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated, acted as joint book-running managers for the offering.
