InterCall Unified Meeting®5 Enhances Meeting Performance

New Web-based Productivity Tool Makes Meetings Easier to Convene and Control

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- InterCall®, a subsidiary of West Corporation, and the world's largest conferencing and collaboration services provider, announced today the availability of Unified Meeting® 5, the latest version of its web-based conferencing product. Unified Meeting 5 improves the meeting experience with powerful productivity enhancements for project teams, co-workers, clients, prospects and partners.

Telecommuting and the growth of mobile devices have produced an environment where more people are working together virtually than ever before. InterCall has leveraged its market leadership, global footprint and expertise in connecting people remotely for more than 20 years to produce Unified Meeting 5.

"We see firsthand how much time people spend in meetings and how easy it is to get pulled into one right after the other. I am always asking people to be productive, not just active. Activity keeps you busy, but being productive means accomplishing something that has impact to your business," said Rob Bellmar, Senior Vice President of Conferencing and Collaboration at InterCall. "Our mission is to help people become more productive- anywhere, anytime and with anyone. Unified Meeting 5 is a big step in that direction, and indicates our approach to raising the bar for accessibility and flexibility."

Unified Meeting 5 makes it easier for organizers and attendees to participate in meetings from their computers, tablets and smart phones, whether they are in the office, working remotely or in transit. Participation is not compromised because of location. That's important because the global mobile workforce is projected to hit 1.2-billion people this year, representing about one-third of the total workforce, according to Nielsen.

Key Unified Meeting 5 features include:

  • Call Me/Dial Out - Meetings call out to participants without the need to memorize special numbers or passcodes

  • Call Management - Everyone can view participants and active speakers or chat in real time, and moderators can selectively mute/unmute, "close the door" to the meeting, invite additional attendees and share selected desktop regions dynamically. Attendees can also be placed into sub-conference groups during the meeting and then brought back into the larger group without ever leaving.

  • Multiple Applications Sharing - Presenters can share more than one application with meeting colleagues concurrently or allow two participants to each share a file simultaneously

  • Click to Join via VoIP - Participants can use traditional phones or VoIP devices without the need for any special software or plugins
