Roy Mellinger Ranked Number 46 in Top 150

(NYS: WLP) announces its chief information security officer, Roy Mellinger, has been awarded the distinction of being named one of ExecRank's 150 "Top Security Executive Rankings" for 2012. Roy was one of more than 10,000 security executives and chief information security officers considered in ExecRank's initial screening. ExecRank's selection process includes applications, nominations and extensive internal and external research to determine qualified candidates. ExecRank evaluates qualified candidates on 24 categories that include experience in the role, business results, board memberships, thought leadership, professional achievements, technology adoption, education, professional reputation and peer recommendations.


Roy Mellinger joined WellPoint in 2009 and is currently the company's vice president and chief information security officer. Roy has more than 30 years experience in developing and managing best-in-class physical, logical and information security programs for domestic and international business operations. At WellPoint, he oversees IT risk management, cyber-investigations and ensures corporate compliance with federal and industry regulatory mandates that protect sensitive information. Roy is also a director on the board of the Health Information Trust Alliance (HITRUST), a collaborative of health care, business, technology and information security leaders.
