StubHub Strikes Second Deal With Major League Soccer

Updated

eBay's StubHub has struck its second Major League Soccer (MLS) partnership with the Portland Timbers to become the team's official fan-to-fan marketplace.

In turn, StubHub gains key marketing assets. Not only will StubHub marketing be visible at Timbers' home games at JELD-WEN Field -- from LED displays to in-game promotions -- but it also gets marketing placements on the Timbers' official website and social media pages.

"We are pleased to be able to offer our fans a certified, secure way to buy and sell their tickets, and to provide another great benefit to season ticket holders," said Joe Cote, vice president of ticket sales for the Timbers.

The partnership is StubHub's second with an MLS team, the first being the LA Galaxy. StubHub also has secondary ticketing agreements with international soccer teams from the English Premier League, including Everton, Sunderland, and Tottenham.
