McAfee Partners with Fujitsu to Deliver Multi-Device Security Globally

World's first OEM to include a multiple device security solution that protects users against device loss and theft, viruses and spyware, and enabled safe web surfing

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- McAfee announced today a first of its kind partnership with Fujitsu Limited (hereinafter "Fujitsu") to deliver McAfee Multi-Access worldwide as a preinstall on new Fujitsu consumer and business computers. McAfee Multi-Access provides comprehensive security on up to three Internet-enabled devices, including PCs, Macs, smartphones and tablets and will be offered to Fujitsu PC customers via a free trial. The multi-device security product will be available globally as a complimentary trial on new Fujitsu PC models in Japan, the United States, and across Europe and Asia. This move extends McAfee's ongoing collaboration with Fujitsu to safeguard both the computer and mobile devices.

With the growing number of cybercrime threats, it's more important than ever for people to protect their Internet-connected devices. In Q4 2012, McAfee Labs reported the number of computer malware samples in the database had already exceeded 113 million. McAfee Labs has also seen a rapid expansion of threats targeting mobile platforms, with a 44-fold increase year-over-year in the number of mobile malware samples detected in 2012.

McAfee Multi-Access can protect up to three devices, such as a computer, smartphone, and tablet. When the trial period expires, the user can choose to continue using the service for $89.99 US for an annual subscription.

"McAfee was quick to identify the need for security software capable of dealing with the sharp increase in the devices needing protection, and has been providing multi-device security software since 2011," said Steve Petracca, SVP and GM of Consumer, Mobile and Small Business Unit at McAfee. "We are delighted to partner with Fujitsu to help even more consumers around the world use the Internet more safely and on all of their devices."

"Fujitsu aims to make the personal computer more than just a piece of hardware by including a suite of value-adding software and services that will increase the convenience, simplicity and security of the end user's digital life," explains Mr. Kazuhisa Terashi, Head of Ubiquitous Service Unit, Fujitsu Limited. "We consider security solutions to be a fundamental and crucial component of this offering. Fujitsu is able to provide our customers around the globe with safer and more secure digital lives by preinstalling security products from McAfee, the global security leader."
