With existing FISMA, CPNI and PCI-DSS compliance, 8x8 sets new standards for cloud VoIP security

HIPAA and HITECH requirements are detailed in the Department of Health and Human Services regulations, including the Omnibus Final Rule published earlier this year.


According to the HIPAA/HITECH regulations, all healthcare providers, health plans, and health care clearinghouses (covered entities) and other businesses acting on their behalf (business associates) that create, receive, maintain, or transmit protected health information (PHI) are required to follow procedures that protect the security and privacy of confidential patient data such as medical and billing records.
