"Making Strides Against Breast Cancer unites us all to walk together as the most powerful force to end breast cancer," said Shari Henning, American Cancer Society, Senior Vice President. "We are so thankful to presenting sponsor Kohl's Cares and the thousands of Making Strides walkers and supporters who are helping our efforts to finish the fight and make this cancer's last century."

In an effort to illustrate the impact breast cancer has in the state of Wisconsin, Kohl's Department Stores erected a visual representation of the estimated 4,490 Wisconsin women who will be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013 on the south lawn of the Milwaukee Art Museum. The installation was designed to encourage support and awareness of the cause, as well as demonstrate Kohl's ongoing commitment to the fight against breast cancer.

"Kohl's is proud to have served as the presenting sponsor of the 2013 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Milwaukee as we continue our partnership with the American Cancer Society which helps provide valuable information and resources to local women battling breast cancer," said Kevin Mansell, Kohl's chairman, president and chief executive officer. "We know breast cancer has impacted thousands of families across the state and as a company, we are passionate about making a true difference in the fight against breast cancer and providing support to those when they need it most."

Kohl's Cares' role as the local presenting sponsor of the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk is just one component of the company's investment in the fight against breast cancer. Since 2010, Kohl's has donated nearly $5 million to the American Cancer Society for programs and resources designed to help the women of Wisconsin fight this invasive disease. The donation, which supports breast cancer research, education and patient-assistance programs, represents the largest corporate gift ever made to the American Cancer Society Midwest Division.

Kohl's partnership with the American Cancer Society builds upon Kohl's long history of charitable involvement in the communities it serves. Since 2000, Kohl's and the Kohl's Cares program have combined to give more than $55 million to support charitable initiatives in the metro-Milwaukee area.
