TCF Bank Promotes Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive by Matching Online Donations up to a Total of $25,000

WAYZATA, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- As part of its long history of providing meaningful contributions to the communities it serves, TCF Bank is a local sponsor of this year's Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive benefiting Minnesota families in need through Second Harvest Heartland. Stamp Out Hunger is the largest single-day food drive in the country.

There are two ways to help: 1) Fill a bag with non-perishable food items and leave by your mailbox on Saturday, May 11, 2013 and/or 2) Make a financial donation at www.2harvest.org/stampout.

All online financial donations will be matched dollar for dollar by TCF Bank up to a total of $25,000 from May 1-14, 2013.

"Hunger affects many people in our community and it is something that we can all help alleviate by simply filling up a bag to feed a Minnesota family," said Mark Jeter, TCF Managing Director of Branch Banking. "For those that prefer to make a financial contribution, TCF Bank is matching online donations in an effort to increase participation in Stamp Out Hunger."

Any bag, or the designated blue grocery bags available at local Cub Foods stores, can be filled with non-perishable food items and placed out by your mailbox the morning of Saturday, May 11th. Local letter carriers will collect these bags as they deliver the mail that day.

Donated food items must be non-perishable and non-breakable and can include canned soups, canned vegetables, canned fruits, canned meats, boxed pasta, rice and peanut butter.

Other local partners and sponsors include National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 9 - Minneapolis and Branch 28 - St. Paul, Cub Foods, KARE 11, Minnesota Transport Services Association, and WCCO Radio.
