Joseph Flanagan Joins Accretive Health as Chief Operating Officer
CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Accretive Health, Inc. (NYS: AH) announced today the appointment of Joseph Flanagan as its new chief operating officer. In this role, Mr. Flanagan will report to president and chief executive officer Stephen Schuckenbrock and be responsible for delivering exceptional operational discipline and client value creation throughout the company's operations.
Mr. Flanagan previously served as senior vice president of worldwide operations and supply chain at Applied Materials, Inc. In that role, Mr. Flanagan was responsible for developing and executing an integrated operations strategy that enhanced enterprise value across all of the company's businesses.

Prior to his role at Applied Materials, Mr. Flanagan was president of Nortel Business Services for Nortel Networks and also served as senior vice president of Global Operations where he managed Services Delivery, Technical and Product Support, Sourcing and Manufacturing all on a global basis. In this capacity, he was responsible for an organization of more than 9,000 employees around the world and three operational joint ventures located in China. Previously, Mr. Flanagan served most of his career working for General Electric (GE), holding leadership positions in many divisions.
