Columbia Pictures' The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2 Chooses KODAK Film to Bring Epic Story to Life on the Streets of Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Through May 9, Columbia Pictures is shooting sequences of The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2 in Rochester, bringing the comic book sequel to the home of motion picture technology leader Eastman Kodak Company. Directed by Marc Webb and photographed by Daniel Mindel, ASC, BSC, the Spider-Man sequel is being shot on KODAK VISION3 Color Negative Film.

"We're thrilled to welcome the cast and crew of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 to the hometown of motion picture film," says Andrew Evenski, president and general manager of Kodak's Entertainment and Commercial Films Group. "Our company is at the very heart of the entertainment industry, so it's great to see Rochester have the opportunity to host a little bit of Hollywood here."


Shooting in Rochester will be done by second unit director of photography Bruce McCleery, who has shot second unit on Star Trek Into Darkness, John Carter, Mission: Impossible-Ghost Protocol and Super 8, among other credits.

The filmmakers chose KODAK VISION3 Color Negative Films 5219, 5213, 5207 and 5203 to capture all the action for the big screen.

Evenski notes that the company remains committed to providing filmmakers a wide range of products. "Filmmakers continue to shoot film, and express a strong desire to have a creative choice for telling stories," Evenski said. "So much of the history of Hollywood and its movies is recorded on KODAK Film. We expect that to continue well into the future."

Productions on the horizon to be shot on Kodak motion picture film also include Star Trek into Darkness, Man of Steel, The Lone Ranger, Sundance-winner Fruitvale Station, The Butler, Noah, Robopocalypse, Cinderella and the remaining three Hunger Games installments, among many others.
