"The people and culture at Plantronics have been a significant competitive advantage for us for more than 50 years," said Ken Kannappan, president and CEO, Plantronics. "Susan will be a strong champion focused on nurturing that dynamic and helping to ensure that our team has the skills necessary to successfully execute our short-term priorities and is prepared for what the future holds."

"Plantronics has one of the most powerful cultures I have seen in the technology industry, providing the magic that has unified the company during its rich history," said Lovegren. "I am honored to be chosen as a shepherd of this dynamic environment and am excited by what this team can achieve in a very compelling market."

Lovegren joins Plantronics after seven years at Juniper Networks where she most recently served as a corporate vice president leading the company's Global Business Aligned Human Resources team, which primarily served the executive leadership team at the company. In that role, she was responsible for leading transformative change related to key company initiatives in addition to the annual process that drove the people agenda and the workforce and succession planning for the year. She also focused on overall organizational effectiveness to ensure a positive employee experience aligned with the culture and values of the company.

Prior to Juniper, Lovegren held several HR roles at Agilent technologies focused on building leadership capability within the company's finance and legal organizations. Through programs she implemented, she helped to shift the culture to support future-state business objectives. She also supported the company's business development priorities, serving as the HR project manager for the due diligence and integration team engaged in four acquisitions and divestitures in a 12-month period.

Lovegren started her career at Hewlett-Packard, spending 16 years in various HR roles supporting a number of different businesses across the organization. She holds a master's degree in human resources management from Golden Gate University and a bachelor's degree in communications from San Jose State University. She is a member of various professional organizations including the Human Resources Forum in Silicon Valley and has received a number of industry awards including the Innovators Team Award in 2010 from the HR Symposium.
