American Water to Hold Annual Stockholder's Meeting on May 13, 2013
VOORHEES, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- American Water Works Company, Inc. (NYS: AWK) announced today that it will hold its Annual Meeting of Stockholders at 10 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) on Monday, May 13, 2013, at The Mansion on Main Street, 3000 Main St., Voorhees, New Jersey. Stockholders of record at the close of business on March 18, 2013, were sent proxy materials and are entitled to attend and vote on all matters that properly come before the meeting. Advanced registration is required.
In addition, American Water is hosting a Virtual Stockholder Meeting for all stockholders of record who wish to take part in the meeting without the physical need to be present. The Virtual Annual Meeting can be accessed shortly before 10 a.m. EDT on May 13, 2013 at https://central.virtualshareholdermeeting.com/vsm/web.do?pvskey=AWK2013.
Taking advantage of the Securities and Exchange Commission's innovative Notice and Access rules, American Water has posted its proxy materials and annual report on Form 10-K on the company's website instead of mailing paper copies to every stockholder. The company is using electronic distribution of its proxy materials to stockholders in an effort to reduce printing and mailing costs, as well as reduce the consumption of paper and other resources. Making use of this technology is part of American Water's drive for fuller transparency, greater engagement with its stockholders, and the company's commitment to sustainability.
