2013 CASA Classic Golf Tournament Contributes More Than $1.3 Million to Help Abused Children in Dallas

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Pioneer Natural Resources, Goldman Sachs and AT&T joined forces Monday, April 22, to host the Dallas CASA Classic, one of the highest grossing charity golf tournaments in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The event benefits Dallas CASA which provides advocates in court for abused children. A contribution of $1,343,000 was presented to Beverly Levy, Executive Director and President of Dallas CASA, during the luncheon portion of the golf tournament.

Scott Sheffield, Chairman and CEO of Pioneer, said, "We are proud to co-host this golf event for such a worthy cause. Pioneer has been a champion of Dallas CASA for many years. By teaming with Goldman Sachs and AT&T, we have been able to expand the base of tournament sponsors and to increase awareness of CASA's mission on behalf of abused and neglected children. We are very grateful to our business partners and our employee volunteers who made the tournament a great success, thus changing the lives of children who need our help."

Levy commented, "Every day we see firsthand the terrible impact of abuse and neglect on children. Each one of these children needs an advocate to make sure they find a safe home where they can thrive. Our friends at Pioneer, Goldman Sachs and AT&T remind us once again that there are good people willing to do whatever it takes to help these children. Through their remarkable efforts, we are well on our way to making sure that every child who needs a CASA advocate will have one."

"We are pleased to co-host the tournament with Pioneer Natural Resources and AT&T and extend our support to CASA in their mission of helping Dallas' most at-risk children," said Brian Ainsworth, Goldman Sachs managing director and co-head of the Irving office. "Through our employees and business partners, we have helped provide abused children with a powerful voice in court to enable them to find safe and healthy home environments for the last 16 years."

Bill Smith, President of AT&T Network Operations, said, "It is a great pleasure to partner with Pioneer Natural Resources and Goldman Sachs for this worthy cause. The funds donated by our generous sponsors and the volunteer efforts of those who organized and supported this successful tournament will enable Dallas CASA to help many children replace hurt and uncertainty with hope and stability. We look forward to participating next year so we can help even more children."

The Dallas CASA Classic was held at the Tournament Players Course and the Cottonwood Valley Course at the Four Seasons Resort and Club in Las Colinas.
