Merit Medical Systems Misses on Both Revenue and Earnings

EPS came in at $0.10. The four earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.14 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.10 for Q1 were 29% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.14 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.02 for Q1 were 86% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.14 per share.

For the quarter, gross margin was 41.4%, 480 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 1.7%, 690 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 0.6%, 540 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $115.3 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.14.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $455.1 million. The average EPS estimate is $0.62.
