Jackson Selected as One of Denver's "Top Workplaces"
DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Jackson National Life Insurance Company® (Jackson®), a leading provider of retirement solutions and educational resources for industry professionals and consumers, has been named one of Denver's "Top Workplaces" by the Denver Post. The award is given to companies whose associates rank their employer highly in the areas of overall direction, execution and connection related to their job duties, management and salary and benefits.
A total of 114 Denver companies were recognized for being a top workplace, with Jackson ranking 10th out of 34 midsize companies (150 to 499 local employees) that were honored. The Denver Post focused on the theme of workplace culture for this year's program by asking employees to score employers on measures including appreciation of workers, direction, confidence in leadership, values and ethics, encouragement of ideas, competence of management, and pay and benefits. Jackson's associates commented on the company's dedication to corporate citizenship, transparency in communication to employees and the company's culture which rewards innovative ideas and associate collaboration.
"Jackson is honored to receive such a high accolade," said Greg Cicotte, president of Jackson National Life Distributors LLC, the sales and marketing arm of Jackson. "We strive to cultivate a workplace where associates feel empowered and have access to all levels of the organization. We have our employees to thank for making Jackson a great place to work."
Jackson understands that every staff member is unique, and aims to provide a wealth of benefits that appeal to associates' different interests. The company supports its associates with learning and development programs, competitive compensation and comprehensive medical and dental plans. In addition to traditional benefit offerings, Jackson also offers generous employee and dependent tuition reimbursement programs, a full-scale dining center, on-site workout facility, discounts to local gyms and yoga classes, concierge services and product discounts. The company also provides resources to support its associates' interests outside the office with charitable donation gift matching programs to select children and senior nonprofits. Another popular benefit employees enjoy is the opportunity to purchase "jeans days" for designated work days throughout the month, with Jackson donating the funds raised to local nonprofits.
Jackson is committed to contributing to the social and economic well-being of the communities where it is an employer. Launched in 2007, The Jackson National Community Fund has awarded more than $2.3 million to Denver-based nonprofits. To further encourage volunteerism, Jackson employees are able to take a volunteer paid time off day each year to provide service to the charity of their choice. In addition, the company holds regular town hall meetings throughout the year to offer associates the chance to hear directly from top executives about the company's key initiatives and goals, as well as address employee concerns. Jackson also demonstrates its appreciation to its associates by providing career growth and development opportunities through internal trainings and mentorship programs. Jackson puts an emphasis on promoting from within, which cultivates a culture of professional advancement and recognition.
"As a company, Jackson fosters an environment where good ideas are welcomed and rewarded," said Cicotte. "Our organization moves at a swift pace - specifically, in the design and implementation of new technology and retirement products - which helps to position the company competitively within the financial services industry. We believe associates find being part of our unique culture is exciting and rewarding."
The Denver Post takes annual nominations from metro-area public, private, nonprofit and government organizations that have at least 50 employees. The rankings are determined by the results of an anonymous employee survey facilitated by WorkplaceDynamics, a partner of the Denver Post.
"Our inaugural Top Workplaces competition is an incredible opportunity to highlight the employers that are going out of their way to create desirable workplaces," said Denver Post Business Editor Kristi Arellano. "We're eager to see the competition expand as companies continue to recognize the value of creating a dynamic workplace where employees feel empowered and appreciated."
