This Sunday, April 28, is National Superhero Day, which people apparently celebrate by dressing up in capes and costumes. At Krispy Kreme (KKD), though, it means some free doughnuts for what the doughnut chain is calling Hero Appreciation Day. Customer who print out this coupon and buy a dozen doughnuts can get another dozen original glazed doughnuts for free. The idea is that you can then distribute your extra dozen doughnuts to the "heroes" in your life. (In a press release, the company recommends firefighters, doctors and teachers as some of the possible heroes worthy of free doughnuts.)

Guitar Center has been offering free ukulele lessons every Saturday for the month of April, so this weekend is your last chance to learn to shred on a tiny guitar at no cost. You'll need to register at the website for lessons at your local store, which will start at 10:15 a.m. Saturday.

Sam's Club (WMT) is having an "open house" this weekend, in which members and nonmembers will be able sample all sorts of free food for spring. The events will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. In addition, nonmembers can shop at the stores and get membership prices this weekend without having to buy a one-day pass or a full membership.

Outback Steakhouse (BLMN) is currently offering a four-course meal for just $15. The meal consists of a bowl of soup, a side salad, one of four entrees and one of two desserts. Assuming the portions are the same as the usual menu, this looks to be a solid deal. It's not clear how long it's available, though, and the website notes that "price and product participation may vary by location."
