Hybrid Cloud Provider Leverages Technical Assessment Tools to Identify Premier IT Talent

SAN ANTONIO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Technical assessment platform provider TrueAbility has extended its set of services to IT pros and customers by announcing at the TechStars Cloud Demo Day that it has successfully completed its beta program with Rackspace® Hosting (NYS: RAX) , the open cloud company.

With TrueAbility's cloud-based technical assessment platform, Rackspace reported improvements to its technical recruiting process, including focused sourcing efforts, higher quality candidates and increased efficiency among IT recruiters.

"The war for technical talent is as competitive as ever—and evolving," said Tim James, director of recruiting for Rackspace Hosting. "As companies transition to cloud-based computing, we're not only tasked with identifying candidates with the right set of technical skill, but with finding a way to accelerate the recruiting process."

Rackspace recently participated in the beta program for TrueAbility's technical assessment platform to assist with sourcing and hiring Linux administrators. Upon completing the program, Rackspace experience the following results:

  • Hired 28 Linux professionals, with an additional 15 in the final phase of interviews.

  • Streamlined the candidate screening process, which reduced the amount of time recruiters spent on this task by 2 days per workweek—equaling approximately three months per year of valuable recruiting time.

  • Generated deeper insights into candidate's technical skillset and ability to perform the required duties of the job. Results dashboard made it easy to sort and review candidate skills.

  • Reduced the amount of time required from internal subject matter experts to screen candidates.

  • Leveraged TrueAbility's contest product at SXSW Interactive Festival to successfully source over 350 Linux professionals in five days.

Partnering with IT Professionals, Recruiters and Hiring Managers Alike

"Our testing and evaluation platform recreates technical jobs in a geographically neutral cloud environment, allowing job candidates to prove their technical skills—from anywhere in the world," stated Luke Owen, TrueAbility CEO. "We see our role as aligning with IT professionals to give them an improved way to demonstrate their abilities, and aligning with the needs of recruiters and hiring managers in order to help them attract and place the right talent."

With TrueAbility, companies are provided with real data to make important hiring decisions. Recruiters and hiring managers are now able to simulate traditional technical screens without the help of internal staff and the upkeep of expensive equipment.

IT professionals are excited by the movement to make hiring decisions with tangible data, rather than traditional resume sorting.
