North Dakota's GDP has grown 4.04% annually over the past decade, compared to 0.54% for the entire U.S., as companies have begun exploiting oil in the western part of the state. In some counties incomes have growth rates in excess of 10% per year since 2005 -- this is a hot jobs market and a growth opportunity for investors.
