Minecraft movie is coming, far more boring than it sounds

Believe it or not, Minecraft is really successful. Not only did it make Markus "Notch" Persson, the game's creator, rich beyond imagination, it's also a global phenomena. We like it a little bit, too. As such, Seven Stories Press will be publishing a book later this year that details the game's creation and Notch's upbringing called Minecraft: The Unlikely Tale of Markus "Notch" Persson and the Game that Changed Everything. Oh, and they've already sold the film rights. That's cool.

Now, as many of you guys know, I wasn't a fan of 2 Player Productions' slothenly-paced and uneven documentary Minecraft: Story of Mojang. Unfortunately, the issues I had with that film aren't likely to be resolved with a new biopic. With all due respect to Notch, the parts of the story I care about – namely, the actual creation of the game – aren't being told because it's unfilmable. The other parts I either already know or don't care about.
