Lear Charging System Gains PSE Certification in Japan

Intertek and Lear Corporation Partner to Bring New EV Technologies to Market

DETROIT--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Intertek (ISE: ITRK) , the leading quality solutions provider to industries worldwide, and Lear Corporation (NYS: LEA) , a leading global supplier of automotive seating and electrical distribution systems, together announce certification for Lear Corporation's Electric Vehicle Charging Coupler and Electric Vehicle Inline Cable Control Box to Japan PSE standards. This is the first Japan PSE certification of its kind and was issued on March 18, 2013, allowing Lear Corporation to market their electric vehicle charging systems in Japan.


Intertek partnered with Lear Corporation to execute the test plan and procedures in accordance with PSE Mandatory Third-Party Conformity Assessment requirements, which include product testing, inspection, and factory evaluation. Upon compliance to Japanese standards and ordinances, PSE certification was issued by the Japan Electrical Safety & Environmental Technology Laboratory (JET).

Together, Lear Corporation and Intertek are at the forefront of the growing electric vehicle technology market. Intertek is pleased to announce that Lear Corporation's Electric Vehicle Charging Coupler and Electric Vehicle Inline Cable Control Box are now PSE certified to Article 1 of the technical requirements of the METI (Ministry of Economy Trade and Industry) ordinance.
