Electronic Arts Shutting Down 3 Facebook Games
Electronic Arts will shut down three of its Facebook social games in June, the company said today. The Sims Social, SimCity Social, and Pet Society will no longer be available after June 14.
"After millions of people initially logged in to play these games, the number of players and amount of activity has fallen off," the company said in a statement. It says it will reallocate development resources to other titles.
EA will try to transition current customers using those games to other titles within its PopCap social games. The company said it will provide customers a special in-game offer soon.
