Rocky Mountain Bank President Announces Departure

BILLINGS, Mont.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Rocky Mountain Bank announced today that Danny T. Skarda, the bank's president and CEO, will be leaving the bank effective April 24, 2013. Skarda will join Herring Bank in Amarillo, Texas as its president and CEO.

In making the announcement, Wallace E. Anderson, chairman of the Rocky Mountain Bank board of directors, said, "We are very sorry to see Danny leave. Under Danny's leadership the bank has grown by nearly $150 million in assets, opened four new branch office locations and expanded the bank's mortgage lending operation to include Boise, Idaho; Buffalo, Wyoming and Missoula, Montana. Along the way, Danny has built a team of solid community bankers across our Montana footprint. In 2012, Rocky Mountain Bank experienced one of its best years ever."

Anderson announced that Curtis Chrystal, the bank's executive vice president and chief credit officer, will serve as interim president and CEO. "With over four years at Rocky and 32 years of bank credit and lending experience, Curtis is the perfect executive to lead the bank at this time," added Anderson.

Chrystal's experience includes positions as regional president with U.S. Bank, business banking manager at Wells Fargo Bank and President and CEO at First National Bank & Trust in Junction City, Kansas. His background includes significant expertise in commercial lending, commercial real estate and agricultural lending.

Skarda commented, "This is indeed a difficult step for me, but I am confident that the bank is well-positioned to continue its recent successes. While I am sad to leave Montana, this move takes my wife and me back home and brings our families closer together. I will always have very fond memories of the people and incredible places in Montana."
